Failure phenomenon and cause of vertical mill due to lubrication


The purpose of lubrication management is to prevent equipment lubrication failures, reduce losses caused by equipment overheating, save maintenance costs and reduce parts replacement, extend equipment life, reduce lubricant consumption, and save the cost of purchasing lubrication materials. Modern machinery and equipment vertical mills are developing in the direction of high precision, high efficiency, high speed, heavy load, small size, maintenance-free, and energy saving, so higher requirements are placed on the friction parts in the vertical mill.


Failure phenomena and causes due to lubrication

1 Mechanical operation is not working

The vertical mill has slow motion, uneven speed and large power consumption during operation. It will inevitably generate vibration and noise, and sometimes cause the motor to overheat and fail to reach the design parameters. . Transmission components such as bearings, belts, gears, etc. will be severely damaged.

main reason:

① The friction parts are improperly installed or defective in design. For example, the clearance of the sliding bearing is too small to increase the friction force, or vice versa, the clearance is too large, resulting in poor impact and lubrication. Too large or too small clearances of parts and components, or insufficient supply of lubricating oil will cause poor lubrication of the parts and worsen the operation status. Some of the above conditions are caused by improper design, while others are caused by poor processing or assembly.

② When the material or combination of the moving parts is improper, and the selection of the lubricant is not suitable, it will also cause unstable movement and easy to cause bite and glue damage.

③ Foreign matter is mixed in. When abrasive solids such as dust and sand penetrate, it is easy to embed friction pairs and hinder movement. Often particles such as dust and sand have a thickness of 0.2 to 0.8 mm and high hardness. They not only hinder operation but also cause significant friction.

④ Abrasion, seizure, peeling and other damage of the parts of the vertical grinding itself will worsen the movement state, and lubrication is difficult to work.

2 vibration and noise

During the operation of the vertical mill, abnormal vibration and noise will be generated due to various reasons, which will reduce the performance of the machine and cause the environment to fail to meet the standards. The reason has a lot to do with lubrication.

3 temperature is too high

The resistance of the friction pair increases, and the temperature rises rapidly, without the influence of heat sources, such as bearings, gearboxes, etc. When the external temperature exceeds 80 ° C, great attention should be paid. Their internal temperature is tens of degrees higher than the external temperature and even burns.

main reason:

① The frictional resistance is too large, and it is forced to run with intense heat. For example, the sealing device of the pump packing is too tight, which causes severe resistance and generates heat.

② The viscosity of the lubricant is too large, and the oil filling amount is too large, which causes excessively intense stirring during operation, which causes heat generation. It is also due to the large viscosity of the lubricant, poor fluidity, and poor heat dissipation.

③ The heat dissipation conditions are not good, the ambient air temperature is high, and the ventilation is poor. The heat cannot be dissipated in time.

④ Due to running heat, improper clearance adjustment, parts deformation and thermal expansion, it will also accelerate the heating of the parts.

4 machinery cannot run

The main manifestations are mechanical abnormalities, and friction pairings.

The reasons are as follows: the friction part is damaged and biting; serious sand and foreign bodies are stuck; the temperature is too high, the state of the friction part is significantly deteriorated, and bite sticking occurs.
